3. Service content: Only the items which are lost in the terminal shall be submitted to the lost and found office for registration and logged into the management system. After completing the procedures of registering lost items, the lost and found office staff shall publish related information on the Shenzhen Airport website in real time, identify the owner based on the lost item’s identifying features, and promptly notify the owner of the claim.

4. Food storage periods and regulations: Because perishable goods such as fruits and food are not suitable for long-term storage, such information will not be published on the airport website. Owners can call or go to the lost and found office of the Shenzhen Airport to inquire and claim the lost items.

Category 1: Fresh foods, including fresh meat, fresh fruit, fresh fish, fresh shrimp, and seafood. Storage period: 1 day.

Category 2: Frozen and dairy products, including seafood such as frozen fish and shrimp, meat, and dairy products. Storage period: 1 day.

Category 3: Cooked foods, including fried food, bread, and snacks. Storage period: limited to the printed shelf life or up to 10 days.

Category 4: Vacuum packaged food, including meat and vegetables with vacuum packaging. Storage period: 10 days.

The storage period of the preceding items shall start from the time when they are received and registered by the lost and found office. Any lost items not claimed within the time limit shall be destroyed. According to the relevant provisions of the Property Law of the People's Republic of China, other items not claimed within 6 months from the date of being announced on the Shenzhen Airport website will no longer be kept.

5. How to claim lost items:

Method 1: Claim by owner

1. The owner shall present his or her original ID card or passport or other valid identification documents.

2. The owner shall describe the date and location of loss and the features of the lost item.

3. The owner shall provide relevant travel documentation if possible, such as the air ticket, boarding pass, and train or ferry ticket.

4. After checking, the lost and found office staff shall register the owner’s ID card number, contact information, and signature of acceptance before the owner can collect the lost item.

Method 2: Authorization of an agent to collect the lost item

1. The agent shall provide the owner's power of attorney and the original copy of the agent's ID card, and submit a photocopy of the agent's ID card as evidence of collection. The power of attorney shall state the principal's name, ID card number, and mobile number.

2. The agent shall describe the date and location of the loss and the features of the lost item.

3. The agent shall provide the owner's relevant travel documentation if possible, such as the air ticket, boarding pass, and train or ferry ticket.

4. The agent can collect the lost item after approval.

The disposal regulations for lithium batteries (including mobile power packs) are as follows:

1. Lithium batteries (including mobile power packs) left or abandoned by passengers shall not remain overnight in the terminal.

2. The business center will no longer provide temporary storage service for lithium batteries (including mobile power packs), but will provide only express service based on the relevant requirements of the express company.

3. Lithium batteries (including mobile power packs) left by passengers that are received by the lost and found office shall be handled in the same way as abandoned lithium batteries.

Claim requirements: The owner shall describe the identifying features of the lost item and the location of loss in detail.

How to claim lost items:

Method 1: Claim by owner

At the time confirmed with the lost and found office, the owner shall provide his or her original ID card, passport, or other valid identification documents and submit photocopies as evidence of collection. If the item is lost on transportation to and from the airport, the owner shall also provide the relevant travel documents, such as the air ticket, boarding pass, and airport bus ticket. The owner shall also provide detailed seat information if possible. The lost and found office shall return the lost item to the owner after verification and registration.

Method 2: Authorization of an agent to collect the lost item

At the time confirmed with the lost and found office, the agent shall provide the owner's power of attorney in original or fax copy, the owner's original or photocopied ID card, passport, or other valid identification documents, and the agent's own original ID card, passport, and other valid identification documents and submit the photocopies of these as evidence of collection. If the item is lost on transportation to and from the airport, the agent shall also provide relevant travel documents, such as the air tickets, boarding passes, and airport bus tickets. The agent shall also provide detailed seat information if possible. The lost and found office shall return the lost item to the agent after verification and registration.

The owner of lost property needs to provide the ID card/passport and the copy, as well as relevant receipts.

The delegated person needs to provide the original/faxed copy of a power of attorney, the ID card/passport of the owner (or the copy), his/her own ID card/passport and the copy, and relevant receipts.

The Lost and Found office returns the lost items after checking the materials.
